With funding from the British Science Association for Science Week we worked with a Sussex Clubs for Young People run youth group to make a sound map of their local area.

The young people went out and recorded sounds of the village, such as the check-outs in the shops, trains at station, even the parrot in the pet shop and incorporated these into a touch-sensitive map using a Makey-Makey.

The project was a great way for youth group to work with their local community and giving them the opportunity to think about their environment in a different light.
